Grade with AI without exposing your students
Anonymization before grading, hosting in France, never used for training: what happens to your students' papers, and what never does.
What Correxio guarantees for your students' data
A student's paper is personal data, very often a minor's. Pasting papers into a consumer chatbot tells you nothing about what becomes of them; with Correxio, every step is documented.
Names hidden before grading
The student's name is located on the paper and blacked out before the AI reads it: it grades blind. Anonymization cannot be turned off, and a paper whose name could not be hidden is flagged to you, never passed off as anonymous.
Hosted in France
The application, database, accounts and scans are hosted on a server in Gravelines, France, as are their encrypted backups. Reading the text on the papers is also done in France.
Never used for training
Papers are never sold or used to train a model, by us or by our providers, whatever your plan.
Scans that don't pile up
Images of the papers are deleted automatically one year after grading ends, and you are emailed beforehand. Backups are kept for seven days at most.
You stay in control
Delete a batch or your whole account at any time, export your data in one click, and rely on the GDPR data processing agreement (DPA) for your school.
What happens to a paper, step by step
From upload to deletion, a paper only goes through the steps needed to grade it.
Upload
You drop in scans or photograph the papers. They are sent encrypted and stored on our server in France, accessible only from your account.
Anonymization
The text on the paper is read in France to locate the student's name, which is hidden on an anonymous copy of the paper.
Grading
Only the anonymous copy is sent to the AI service, which proposes a score and annotations against your rubric. This transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Review
Only you see the names, and you approve every score before any export. Nothing is sent to students or parents.
Deletion
One year after grading ends, the scans are erased. Scores stay in your account until you delete them.
Your questions about data protection
Is grading papers with AI GDPR-compliant?
Yes, within a clear framework: identified providers, safeguarded transfers, limited retention, only the data that is needed. Correxio is built for that framework: it acts as the teacher's or school's processor, its privacy policy names every provider and where it processes data, and a data processing agreement (DPA) applies to every account.
Why not just paste papers into a chatbot?
A consumer chatbot doesn't hide the student's name, its data reuse terms depend on the plan you use, and it doesn't keep your rubric from one paper to the next. Correxio anonymizes every paper before grading, applies the same rubric to the whole batch and lets you review every score.
Where does the AI process the papers?
The AI service that grades does not guarantee a fixed processing region: a paper may be processed outside the European Union. That is why the name is hidden first, and why this transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Everything else (storage, accounts, backups, text reading) happens in France.
Who can see my students' papers?
You, from your account. Links to the scans expire after a few minutes, and the Correxio team only accesses them to provide support and keep the service running.
Can my school sign a data processing agreement?
Yes: the processing agreement required by Article 28 of the GDPR is published on the site and applies to every account. For a specific request, write to contact@correxio.com.
